Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh. What is the meaning of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever sees me in a dream will see me in his wakefulness من رآني في المنام فسيراني في اليقظة
Sahih al-Bukhari 6993
?

The Shaykh : Yes, this hadith is narrated in various wordings, including the one you mentioned, and also:
He who saw me in a dream in fact saw me, for the satan does not appear in my form. من رآني في المنام فقد رآني حقيقة فإنّ الشّيطان لا يتمثّل بي
Sahih Muslim 2266a
. As for the second wording, there is no issue with it; whoever sees him in a dream in the form he is in has truly seen him. As for the second wording,
and will see me in waking life. فسيراني في اليقظة
, it is understood to refer to the Companions who were in his time before he passed away. Yes.
