The questioner : The hadith is the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever sees me in a dream will see me in his wakefulness من رآني في المنام فسيراني يقظة
Sahih al-Bukhari 6993
Whoever sees me in a dream.
The student: He says, what is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
Whoever sees me in a dream will see me in his wakefulness من رآني منكم في المنام فسيراني في اليقظة
Sahih al-Bukhari 6993
?

The Shaykh : Yes, this addresses the Companions who were able to see him, meaning: Whoever among you, O those addressed, sees me in a dream will see me in waking life. It is not general for the entire Ummah. The statement that is general for the entire Ummah is:
Whoever saw me (in a dream) while sleeping then he has indeed seen me من رآني في المنام فقد رآني حقاً
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2276Sahih (Darussalam)
This is for the entire Ummah.
