Advice to owners of Islamic recordings and the call to encourage them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the Pious, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. As for what follows:
On this night, the night of Thursday marking the end of the month of Jumada al-Thani and the beginning of the month of Rajab in the year 1416, we welcome our brothers and shaykhs who have come to participate in the opening of the Al-Istiqamah recordings branch in the city of Unaizah. We welcome our visiting shaykhs from the city of Buraydah, the city of al-Zulfi, and other cities in the Qassim region, and we ask Allah the Exalted to reward them for this and to recompense them with good.
Encouraging such recordings is one of the important matters that represents carrying out the command of Allah Mighty and Majestic when He said:
cooperate in righteousness and piety وتعاونوا على البر والتقوى
[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]
. There is no doubt that assisting and supporting Islamic recordings falls within this verse. Therefore, we first urge our brothers who own recording studios to ensure that the recordings they make in the Muslim world, in our country Saudi Arabia and elsewhere, are purposeful recordings directed toward good and preventing evil, for that is what is required of the owners of recordings. If they do this, they have entered into the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out (3) And will provide for him from where he does not expect. ومن يتق الله يجعل له مخرجًا * وبرزقه من حيث لا يحتسب
[At-Talaq 65:2-3]
,
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him of his matter ease. ومن يتق الله يجعل له من أمره يسرًا
[At-Talaq 65:4]
. It is incumbent upon them—that is, the owners of recordings—to avoid anything that is a cause of bad character or a bad methodology and conduct, so that people may stand upon the noble morals that Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded, and by which Allah described Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) in His saying:
And indeed, you are upon a great character وإنك لعلى خلق عظيم
.
As for the general public, and especially the students of knowledge, we call upon them to benefit from these recordings, to strive to develop them and to purchase them, so that this may be a cause for the continuation of these houses—I mean the recording studios—and so that their material does not run out, causing them to lose money or close down, may Allah protect us from that.
Enriching these recordings by purchasing them and encouraging them is not only beneficial for the people of the recordings, but also for the buyers and listeners everywhere. It is important that the recording be clear so that no word is hidden from it, for we have tried and found that if recordings are not clear, some words may be hidden, which changes the meaning significantly. Therefore, the owners of recordings must take this matter into consideration, which is that the tape should be output clearly and distinctly so that people are not misled by it.
Then, we ask Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, that such Islamic recordings may extend to all Muslim lands so that the recordings that spread what is not befitting a Muslim, and what is not befitting noble morals, may be eliminated. This is because when good settles in, it drives out evil. But if people are negligent about it and do not enrich it, it is likely to end, and thereby we will suffer a great loss.
We ask Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, for success for everyone, and we repeat our thanks to our brothers and shaykhs who attended this opening for the encouragement it represents. We ask Allah the Exalted to maintain the security and faith of this land, to reform its rulers, both young and old, and to make us among the guiding and guided, the righteous and reformers. Indeed, He is capable of all things. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and all his family and companions.
