Does one who breaks the fast on the Day of Ashura due to hardship owe anything?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. A man fasted on the Day of Ashura, and his work was somewhat difficult, so he broke his fast on that same day. Does he have to make up the fast or pay an expiation? May Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : Meaning, he broke his fast on that day.

The questioner : On that same day, yes.

The Shaykh : There is no obligation to make up a voluntary fast for one who breaks it, especially if the voluntary fast is tied to a specific day and that day is missed. However, if one is fasting three days of every month, and he fasted one of those days but experienced hardship and broke his fast, then he should fast one day in its place in order to complete the three days of fasting. Yes.
