The questioner : O Shaykh, may Allah reward you. Regarding the one who is coming from a journey and has reached the town, for example, he caught the Maghrib prayer time before reaching the town, about half an hour or thirty kilometers away. Does he combine the prayers in this case, fearing that when he reaches the town he will be exhausted and unable to pray with the congregation?

The Shaykh : Yes, meaning he says: If the traveler approaches his town and has only a short distance left, and the time for Maghrib prayer has arrived, is it permissible for him to combine 'Isha' with it? We say: Yes, as long as he has not entered the town, he is a traveler and he may shorten and combine the prayers. Yes.
