Continuation of the exegesis of verses (52 - 55 and 59 - 60) of Surat al-Dhariyat and other selected verses and what is derived from them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We are supplementing here some of the verses, indeed all the verses that we forgot in the previous lesson, which is the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
Similarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, "A magician or a madman."
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:52]
This means: The matter that happened to you, O Muhammad! happened to those before you. So His saying: "Thus" is a predicate for a hidden subject, the estimation being: "The matter is thus," meaning: The matter of the previous nations is like the matter of those who lied to you, O Muhammad. And He explained this lie by His saying:
there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, "A magician or a madman."
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:52]
This means: No messenger came to them except that they said such and such. And
fromمِن
in His saying:
A messenger
is superfluous in terms of grammar, like His saying, the Exalted:
There came not to us any bringer of good tidings or a warner
[Al-Ma'idah 5:19]
The meaning is: No bringer of good news and no warner came to us, but letters are added in some sentences for emphasis.
So
No messenger ever came to those before them
means: No messenger came to them except that they described him with these two descriptions:
except that they said, "A magician or a madman."
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:52]
A sorcerer, considering his effect, his eloquence, and his oratory, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Some eloquent speech is as effective as magic.
Sahih al-Bukhari 5767
.
Or a madman
This means: Or they said he is a madman, considering his behavior, because this behavior, in the view of these deniers, is madness. We ask Allah for safety.
And in this is consolation for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), because when a person knows that others have been afflicted with what afflicted him, he is consoled by it and the matter becomes light for him. For this reason, al-Khansa, Tumadir, said in mourning her brother Sakhr, in a eulogy of hers:
"And if it were not for the multitude of mourners around me *** for their brothers, I would have killed myself
And what they mourn is not like my brother, but *** I console my soul about him by taking comfort in others"

And this is indicated by the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment.
[Az-Zukhruf 43:39]
Because when a person shares the pain with others, it becomes light for him, but on the Day of Resurrection, it does not benefit a person that others share his punishment.
The important point is that in this sentence, regarding the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), there is consolation for him so that he does not grieve, for what happened to him has happened to others. And in it is also proof that the path of the deniers of the messengers is one, even if their times are far apart and even if their regions are far apart, because the sinner is the brother of the sinner, so the method is one.
Allah the Exalted said:
Did they agree upon it?
That is: With this saying:
or are they a transgressing people?
[At-Tur 52:32]
This means: Did these deniers of the messengers, who agreed to describe the messengers as sorcerers and madmen, did they agree upon this? That is: Did each one of these nations write a will to the subsequent nations saying: Say to your prophets: You are sorcerers and madmen?
The answer is: No, and for this reason He said:
Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people.
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:53]
And this is a negation of the previous statement, meaning: There was no communication, but the thoughts converged, because the goal is one, which is the denial of the messengers, so the word agreed. And in His saying: "tyrants," He described these as tyrants who transgress, and this is one of the greatest tyrannies - may Allah protect us - that they describe the callers to the truth as sorcerers and madmen.
Allah the Exalted said:
So turn away from them.

for you are not to be blamed.
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:54]
This means: No one blames you, because you conveyed the message, fulfilled the trust, and were patient and endured. Indeed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was patient and endured the harm of Quraysh and their humiliation of him, but he had the good outcome, praise be to Allah. For this reason He said: "Turn away from them," meaning: You do not exhaust yourself in them, nor do you destroy yourself in them, so in this state, you are not blamed for it, because he (peace and blessings be upon him) did what was obligatory upon him.
And in His saying, the Exalted:
So leave them, [O Muhammad], for you are not to be blamed.
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:54]
there are two matters:
The first matter: The excuse for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and establishing the excuse for him,
And the second: The threat to these deniers that Allah the Exalted threatens them with the turning away of the Messenger from them, because there is no good in them.
Then He said:
And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:55]
Mention, that is: He reminded the people of the verses of Allah, His laws, and His days. His laws: What Allah obligated upon the servants. His days: His punishment, Blessed and Exalted is He, for the deniers and His reward for the obedient. But Allah made the mention general and said: "Mention" and did not say: "Mention of the believers," but He clarified that those who benefit from the reminder are the believers, He said:
Indeed, the reminder benefits the believers
Because the believer, when he is reminded, is as Allah, Mighty and Majestic, described him,
when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind.
[Al-Furqan 25:73]
Rather, they accept them with complete openness of chest and complete tranquility. And in the verse is proof of the obligation of reminding in all circumstances, and in it is that those who benefit from the reminder are the believers, and that whoever does not benefit from the reminder is not a believer, either lacking in faith or deficient in faith. And here, examine yourself: When you are reminded of the verses of Allah and warned of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, do you remember, or does your heart remain as it is, hard? If it is the first, praise Allah, for you are among the believers. And if it is the second, hold yourself accountable and do not blame anyone but yourself. You must return to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, so that you benefit from the reminder.
And in the verse is proof that the stronger the faith, the greater and more intense the benefit from the reminder. And this is from a known rule among the scholars, which is: When a ruling is attached to a description, it increases with its increase and decreases with its decrease.
As for His saying, the Exalted:
(56) And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. (57) I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me. (58) Indeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength.
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:56-58]
The discussion of it has already been mentioned in the previous meeting.
Then Allah the Exalted said:
And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their predecessors, so let them not impatiently urge Me.
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:59]
Those who wronged by disbelief have sins like the sins of their companions. And sins, in the original sense, is the bucket or what is drawn with. And the proof of that is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
pour a bucket or a tumbler (full) of water over the place where he has passed urine
Sahih al-Bukhari 6128
And the meaning is: These wrongdoers have a share like the share of those who came before them: For those who wronged, is it with the letter "fa" and not with the letter "waw"?
The student: With the letter "fa"

The Shaykh : With the letter "fa"
And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their predecessors
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:59]
That is: A share of the punishment like the share of their companions.
And look how Allah the Exalted named the predecessors in distant times as "companions" of these, due to their agreement in denial and accusing the messengers of what they do not deserve, so they are companions in reality, even if the times and places are far apart.
So let them not hasten.
The "noon" here is kasrah as it is the protective noon, and the pronoun "ya" is deleted, and its original form is: "So do not hasten me," so the "ya" was deleted for lightness. For this reason, it does not cause difficulty for a person to say: How was the "noon" with the prohibitive "la"?
And the answer is that we say: This "noon" is not the grammatical "noon" but the protective "noon," so the verb is therefore jussive, and the "noon" is for protection, and the "ya" which is the object is deleted.
So they do not hasten
And in His saying:
So they do not hasten
there is a clear threat that these will surely be afflicted with punishment, but they do not hasten Allah, Mighty and Majestic, because Allah the Exalted gives respite to the wrongdoer and delays him until when He takes him, He does not let him go, as it came in the hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: إن الله ليملي للظالم حتى إذا أخذه لم يفلته وتلا قوله تعالى: وَكَذَلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَا أَخَذَ الْقُرَى وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ إِنَّ أَخْذَهُ أَلِيمٌ شَدِيدٌ Indeed, Allah grants respite to the wrongdoer, but when He seizes him, He does not let him escape. And he recited His saying, the Exalted: “And thus is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the towns while they are wrongdoers; indeed, His seizure is painful and severe.”
And woe to those who have disbelieved from their Day which they are promised.
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:60]
On the Day [some] faces will turn white and [some] faces will turn black
[Ali 'Imran 3:106]
And We will gather the criminals, that Day, blue-eyed.
[Taha 20:102]
So it will be between this world, we ask Allah for safety, in this manner. For this reason He said:
And woe to those who have disbelieved from their Day which they are promised.
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:60]
And this day will be a difficult day for them, because they are disbelievers, may Allah protect us.
And up to here ends the discussion of Surat al-Dhariyat, and now let us bring the questions and let us start with the oath, and each person has one question.
