If a woman whose husband has died gives birth before the four months and ten days, how does she observe the waiting period?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Now, you have the issue of a woman whose husband has died who gives birth before four months and ten days. Ali ibn Abi Talib and Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said that she observes the waiting period for the longer of the two periods. The meaning of the longer of the two periods is that if her pregnancy lasts more than four months and ten days, she remains in the waiting period. And if she gives birth before four months and ten days, she remains in the waiting period until the four months and ten days are completed. And that is sufficient for her, especially since the hadith in the two Sahihs—the hadith of Subay'ah al-Aslamiyyah—is clear that she gave birth a few nights after her husband’s death, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted her to marry. It is not strange that scholars differ on a matter where there is a clear text. Yes, Sharafi.
