Is the witr prayer performed when the iqamah has been called?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The Shaykh, may Allah reward you. I mean, a man slept through the witr, then entered the mosque after the iqamah had been called and after the mu'adhdhin had begun the iqamah. He could have performed the witr before the imam came forward. Is it permissible for him to perform the witr and catch up?

The Shaykh : Perform the witr before the imam begins the prayer, even though the iqamah has been called?

The questioner : Yes, indeed.

The Shaykh : That does not work. Did you understand the question? A man says he slept through the witr, then came to the mosque while the mu'adhdhin was calling the iqamah for the Fajr prayer. He says he can perform the witr before the imam says takbir. Is that possible?
The student: It is not possible.

The Shaykh : It is absolutely not possible.

The questioner : ... aligning the rows, O Shaykh ... .

The Shaykh : By Allah, if there were a thousand rows and they began aligning them and assigned people to look after them, it might be possible. In any case, once the iqamah is called, prayer is not permissible, neither the witr nor the Fajr sunnah nor anything else. Yes.
