The reciter: Abdullah ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, Shayban Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us from Ziyad ibn 'Ilqamah from al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, who said:
The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day Ibrahim died, and the people said, "The sun was eclipsed because of Ibrahim's death." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse for the death of anyone or for his life. So when you see it, pray and call upon Allah." كسفت الشمس على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يوم مات إبراهيم، فقال الناس: كسفت الشمس لموت إبراهيم، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : إن الشمس والقمر لا ينكسفان لموت أحد ولا لحياته، فإذا رأيتم فصلوا وادعوا الله
