The reciter: Shihab ibn 'Abbad narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Humayd narrated to us, from Isma'il, from Qays, who said: I heard Abu Mas'ud say: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih al-Bukhari 1041.
The Shaykh : His saying is this for obligation or for recommendation?
Most of the scholars are of the opinion that it is for recommendation, and their evidence is the hadith of the Bedouin. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned to him the five prayers, he said: Is there anything else upon me? He said:Sunan an-Nasa'i 458Sahih (Darussalam).
The reality is that this does not indicate what they held, because what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned regarding the eclipse prayer was mentioned for a cause, and the hadith of the Bedouin was only intended to clarify for him the obligatory prayers every day without a cause. Therefore, it is possible to use it, meaning the hadith of the Bedouin, as evidence that witr is not obligatory, because witr is restricted by time, not by cause.
As for using it as evidence for the non-obligation of the eclipse prayer, and the non-obligation of the festival prayers, and the non-obligation of the greeting of the mosque, and the like of those matters in which the scholars disagreed, there is no evidence in it.
Therefore, we see that the eclipse prayer is a collective obligation. If a sufficient number of people perform it, it drops off the rest. And if all the people leave it, they all sin, because it is not possible that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) warns us with these signs and then we remain on our beds or in our playgrounds and the like. This is, at the very least, bad conduct with Allah and a lack of concern for His warning (Blessed and Exalted is He). So it is a collective obligation, without doubt in my view, and it is not permissible for the Muslims to leave the eclipse prayer.
The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death of someone from the people but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. When you see them stand up and pray.
إن الشمس والقمر لا ينكسفان لموت أحد من الناس، ولكنهما آيتان من آيات الله، فإذا رأيتموهما فقوموا فصلواThe Shaykh : His saying
So stand up and pray.

No, unless you do it voluntarily.
