Explanation of the Book of Hajj-01b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Malik ibn Isma'il narrated to us, and Zuhr narrated to us, saying: Zayd ibn Jubayr narrated to me:
That he came to 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) at his house, where he had a tent and a canopy, and he asked him from where it is permissible for him to perform 'Umrah? He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made it obligatory for the people of Najd to enter the state of ihram at Qarn, for the people of Madinah at Dhu al-Hulayfah, and for the people of Sham at al-Juhfah.
.

The Shaykh : This is the wording of Nafi', which is important. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made it obligatory for the people of Najd to enter the state of ihram at Qarn. And what is in the many narrations is: "The people of Madinah enter the state of ihram from Dhu al-Hulayfah." The scholars said that "enters the state of ihram" (yuhill) is a report used in the sense of a command. And this last wording we have is explicit that entering the state of ihram from these miqats is obligatory. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made it obligatory for the people of Najd to enter the state of ihram at Qarn. Qarn is called Qarn al-Manazil, and it is now called al-Sayl al-Kabir. The second is for the people of Madinah at Dhu al-Hulayfah. Dhu al-Hulayfah is the place known today, and it was named so because it has a famous, abundant grove of trees, so it was called Dhu al-Hulayfah. It is now called Abwar 'Ali. The third is for the people of Sham at al-Juhfah, a famous and well-known village in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for the people of Sham, but it was ruined and destroyed, and people began to enter the state of ihram from Rabigh instead of it. Rabigh is slightly farther from Makkah than al-Juhfah was. So whoever enters the state of ihram from Rabigh has entered the state of ihram from al-Juhfah and more.
