Explanation of the Book of Hajj-10a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Khalid ibn Makhlad narrated to us, Sulayman ibn Bilal narrated to us, Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: "Adi ibn Thabit informed me, saying: 'Abdullah ibn Yazid al-Khatmi narrated to me, saying: "Abu Ayyub al-Ansari narrated to me:
he prayed maghrib and isha together at Muzdalifa during the farewell hajj, with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم جمع في حجة الوداع المغرب والعشاء بالمزدلفة
Muwatta Malik 20:210

The Shaykh : First, the place: this is called Muzdalifah and it is called Jama'. It is called Muzdalifah from al-azdalaf, which means approaching, because it is close to Makkah. It is called Jama' because the pilgrims gather there, including Quraysh and non-Quraysh. It is called al-Mash'ar al-Haram because it is within the sacred precinct. Al-Mash'ar al-Halal is 'Arafah. So it has three names, and it may have more, but this is what comes to my mind now.
