The Benefits of the Three Hadiths.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : All these hadiths, as you see, do not go beyond these three etiquettes: saying the name of Allah, eating with your right hand, and eating from what is near you. The correct view is that saying the name of Allah is obligatory, and that it is forbidden for a person to eat without saying the name of Allah. Eating with the right hand is also, according to the correct view, obligatory, and eating with the left hand is forbidden. As for eating from what is near you, this is a matter of etiquette, and I do not see that it is obligatory, even though it is associated with what is obligatory. This is because it concerns the rights of others. Yes, if we know that another person is hurt by your eating from what is near him, then here we may say it is obligatory so as not to harm others. In fact, some people are very averse to your eating from what is near them, and they may hit you, as some Bedouins do if you eat from what is near them; they may strike your arm until it is nearly broken. Do not eat from what is near him. We say that if a person is hurt and distressed by it, then eating from what is near him is forbidden because of the harm. Yes.
