Is wudu' and the order of washing the limbs in ghusl a condition for the validity of the ghusl, or is intention and washing the body once sufficient?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is wudu' and the order of washing the limbs in ghusl a condition for the validity of the ghusl, or is intention and washing the body once sufficient?

The Shaykh : Washing the body once is sufficient, starting with any part of it, along with rinsing the mouth and sniffing water into the nose.
However, it is better for a person to first wash his private parts and whatever was impurified by the janabah, then perform a complete wudu', then pour water over his head three times. Once he has quenched it, he should pour water over the rest of his body, starting with the right side of the body. This is what is best.
And if he performs the ghusl once, it is sufficient, due to the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves وإن كنتم جنباً فإطهروا
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
, and He did not mention wudu', Mighty and Majestic. Accordingly, if a person intends to perform ghusl from janabah and immerses himself in a river, sea, or pond, then comes out and rinses his mouth and sniffs water into his nose, the state of ritual impurity is lifted from him, and he can pray even if he did not perform wudu'.
