The questioner : It is mentioned that a doctor treats women by checking their pulse, and he says he has heard from some people that touching a woman invalidates the ablution, even if there is no desire. Please guide me in this work, may you be rewarded?

The Shaykh : The answer to this question requires two things:
The first thing: touching a woman to treat her. If a man feels desire when touching a woman, it is forbidden for him to touch her because she is a non-mahram to him, and because touching women with desire is a cause of immorality. It is obligatory for him to stop if he feels that. Likewise, if he knows from himself that he has strong desire and that his desire is stirred by the slightest contact with a woman, it is obligatory for him to refrain from this.
As for if his desire is not stirred and he does not mind touching a woman, and he touches her as if he were touching a man or one of his daughters, there is no blame on him to touch her out of necessity. In fact, there is no blame on him to touch whatever the need requires.
As for the second aspect: it is the invalidation of the ablution by touching a woman. We say: touching a woman does not invalidate the ablution in any case, even if a man touches his wife for desire or has intercourse with her for desire, his ablution is not invalidated unless pre-seminal fluid or semen comes out of him. And if semen comes out of him, it is obligatory for him to perform the full ritual bath.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
