Follow-up to the question: Taking care of an orphan through the offices of Islamic Relief. Does the guardian receive the reward for taking care of an orphan even if the orphan is not in his home?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Therefore, we see that those who call people to sacrifice outside the country are closer to sin than to safety. Yes, call people to give and to give charity to those outside, to the Muslims waiting outside. This is good, and we help with this. But as for transferring one of the manifest rituals of Islam to there, that is a mistake, a great mistake.

The questioner : Taking care of an orphan.

The Shaykh : As for taking care of an orphan, if you find an orphan here, taking care of him here is more preferable. And taking care of him is not just by food, drink, and clothing, but also by custody. Perhaps custody involves more care than food and drink. You keep him in your home with the children, you teach him, you educate him, and you be gentle with him. This is complete care. Do you understand now?
