The ruling on one who forgets the takbir of prostration while there are people behind him: what should he do?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah preserve you from all evil, O honorable Shaykh.

The Shaykh : And whoever heard, and whoever said, yes.

The questioner : If the imam raises his head, meaning he raises his head from prostration, but forgets to say: Allahu Akbar, what does he do in this situation?

The Shaykh : The takbirs of the prayer, other than the takbir of ihram, are obligatory. That is, if a person forgets them, his prayer is valid, but he must perform the prostration for forgetfulness before the taslim.

The questioner : The followers do not know.

The Shaykh : The followers have no obligation regarding it.

The questioner : ... prostration.

The Shaykh : They prostrate with him when he prostrates; they must prostrate with him.

The questioner : If he raises his head from prostration and forgets to say: Allahu Akbar, while they are in prostration in this situation.

The Shaykh : Fine.

The questioner : What do you mean? How, so that they stand up?

The Shaykh : Ah, are you asking about the imam or about the follower?

The questioner : About the imam.

The Shaykh : About the imam, if he forgets and stands up, then he should recite al-Fatihah somewhat loudly so that they know he has stood up. As for the takbir, its time has passed; he cannot say it at a time other than its proper time. Yes.
