Is reciting the Qur'an with the tajwid known today part of the Sunnah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is reciting the Qur'an with the tajwid known today part of the Sunnah?

The Shaykh : What appears to me is that reciting the Qur'an with the tajwid that exists today is a form of improving the recitation, but it is not obligatory. What is obligatory is to clearly pronounce the letters and the vowel movements. However, if one does so in the manner known today in tajwid, this is a form of beautifying the voice, on the condition that one does not exaggerate in the articulation points of the letters. Indeed, some people exaggerate in the articulation points of the letters to the extent that they strain to produce the letters of qalqalah and the like.
