The ruling on reciting the Qur'an without tajwid for one who does not know it

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The first message in this episode is from the Syrian Arab Republic, Deir al-Zor, the paper factory. The listener, Sa'id Hasan al-Husayni, says: "My brother Sa'id asks in one of his questions: Is it permissible to recite the Qur'an without tajwid? I do not know tajwid."

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
There is no blame on you for that, and praise be to Allah. You may recite even if you do not know tajwid. Tajwid is recommended for whoever is able to do it and it is made easy for him, because it gives the letters their due and because it beautifies the voice in recitation. If it is made easy for you, it is sought after; if it is not made easy, there is no blame on you. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the authentic hadith:
One who is proficient in the Qur'an is associated with the noble, upright, recording angels; and he who falters in it, and finds it difficult for him, will have two rewards.الماهر بالقرآن مع السفرة الكرام البررة، والذي يقرأ القرآن وهو عليه شاق ويتتعتع فيه له أجران
Sahih Muslim 798a
This is by the grace of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He), who informed that he has two rewards, even if he stumbles and does not recite as it should be. He has two rewards because there is striving in it, struggling with his own self, the self in reciting the Book of Allah, reflecting, understanding, and learning, until he delivers as much of the recitation as he is able.
But if it is made easy for you, my brother, to have someone teach you and help you, then do so, so that the recitation may be better and more complete, if Allah wills. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith:
The best among you is he who learns and teaches the Qur'an.خيركم من تعلم القرآن وعلمه
Sunan Abi Dawud 1452Sahih (Al-Albani)

The purpose of learning is action; knowledge is a means. The goal is that you act in obedience to Allah, leave the disobedience of Allah, and stand by the limits of Allah, so that you deserve the great reward from Allah and the good outcome, by His grace and kindness. But you are not required to deliver the recitation in the manner practiced by the people of tajwid. Recite it as Allah has made easy for you, and praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
