Is it permissible to pray over the deceased after 'Asr if he was buried before that?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He entered the cemetery after the 'Asr prayer, and a funeral had already been prayed over and buried. Is it permissible for him to pray over this funeral after the burial? And is this time a time of prohibition in which the deceased is buried?

The Shaykh : Yes, if you come to the cemetery and the deceased has been buried after 'Asr, do not pray over him, due to the generality of the statement of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
there is no prayer after the 'Asr prayer until the sun sets لا صلاة بعد صلاة العصر حتى تغرب الشمس
Sunan Abi Dawud 1276Sahih (Al-Albani)
You may pray over him at night or during the day of the next day. As for praying over him before he is buried, there is no harm in that. This is because praying over him before burial is a prayer that has a cause, and all prayers that have a cause are not subject to prohibition. Any prayer that has a cause, pray it whenever its cause is present, at any hour you wish, whether night or day. For example, if you enter the mosque after 'Asr, you pray two rak'ahs. If you perform wudu' after 'Asr, you pray two rak'ahs for the wudu'. If something happens to you and you want to seek guidance from Allah regarding it, and it would pass before the end of the time of prohibition, pray two rak'ahs and seek guidance. Yes.
