Why was Ibrahim (peace be upon him) specifically singled out for the call to the oneness of Allah, when all the prophets called to the oneness of Allah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : O Shaykh, why was Ibrahim (peace be upon him) specifically singled out for the call to the oneness of Allah?

The Shaykh : With what?

The questioner : Why was Ibrahim (peace be upon him) specifically singled out for the call to the oneness of Allah, when all the prophets called to the oneness of Allah?

The Shaykh : The call?

The questioner : The oneness of Allah.

The Shaykh : All the prophets came with the oneness of Allah. Allah the Exalted said:
And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me." وما أرسلنا قبلك من رسول إلاّ نوحي إليه أنّه لا إله إلاّ أنا فاعبدون
[Al-Anbya 21:25]
. But Ibrahim, as you know, is the father of the Arabs and the father of the Israelites, and he called to pure tawhid (the oneness of Allah). The Jews claimed to be his followers, the Christians claimed to be his followers, and the Muslims are his followers. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) was specifically distinguished as the father of the prophets and the one who possessed the smooth, natural religion (hanifiyyah). We were commanded to follow him so that we would establish that we are the most deserving of being associated with Ibrahim, as Allah Mighty and Majestic said:
Indeed, the most worthy of Abraham among the people are those who followed him [in submission to Allah] and this prophet, and those who believe [in his message] إنّ أولى النّاس بإبراهيم للذين اتّبعوه وهذا النّبيّ والذين آمنوا
[Ali 'Imran 3:68]
. And He said in response to the Jews and Christians:
Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah]. And he was not of the polytheists. ما كان إبراهيم يهوديًّا ولا نصرانيًّا ولكن كان حنيفاً مسلماً وما كان من المشركين
[Ali 'Imran 3:67]
.
