The questioner : I performed 'Umrah with my family while suffering from leg pain due to a minor fracture, and praise be to Allah, but the pain returns with excessive walking. My question here, O honorable Shaykh, is that during the tawaf, I started circling and would sit for a short time to rest and relieve my injured foot, and so on. But the pain intensified until it made me leave the last lap. What is required of me now, and what is the ruling if my father performed the last lap on my behalf at the same time?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. The tawaf performed by this woman is not valid. And if the tawaf is not valid, the sa'y is not valid. Therefore, she is still in her 'Umrah. It is obligatory for her now to avoid all the prohibitions of ihram, including intercourse with her husband if she has one. Then she should go to Mecca while in her state of ihram, perform tawaf and sa'y, and shorten her hair in order to complete the 'Umrah. Unless she had made a condition at the beginning of her ihram, saying, "If I am prevented by a preventer, then my place of exiting ihram is where I am prevented." In that case, she has exited ihram now, but she does not have a valid 'Umrah because she exited from it.
And on this occasion, I advise my Muslim brothers not to be negligent in these matters. For among people now, there are those who ask about a Hajj or 'Umrah from years ago in which they neglected a pillar, and they come to ask. Glory be to Allah! If a person lost a sheep, he would not sleep the night until he found it. So how is it with matters of religion and knowledge? So I say: A person must first know before he acts.
Second, if it happens that he did not learn and a defect occurred, the obligatory thing is to hasten to rectify it. But some people think that what they did is correct, so they do not ask about it. But this is not an excuse. Why is it not an excuse? Because if he did what contradicts the people, he has contradicted them, so he must ask. He must ask, because the principle is that contradicting the people is an error. So if, for example, a person performed sa'y and started with al-Marwah and ended with al-Safa, this contradicts the people. And if he contradicts the people, he must ask. He should not remain silent until he remembers it. He must ask. In reality, he is not excused as long as he did what contradicts the people. He is not excused for delaying the question. So a person must ask and hasten to ask. Sometimes a person does not ask, and then the woman or the man marries while he is in ihram. And at that time, we say the marriage is not valid; it must be renewed. So this woman, for example, if we suppose she married after performing 'Umrah, the marriage is not valid. She must go and complete her 'Umrah, then return and renew the contract, because she married while in ihram. So the matter is serious, serious, serious. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you and bless you. This brother, the questioner, says.
