The benefits of his statement: (… He said: Juwayriyah, and I do not think he said anything other than: on his right hand) and in it is the fact that wearing the watch on the right hand has no special merit.

The Shaykh : "I do not think he said" means "I do not suppose he said," and this is undoubtedly not a statement of certainty. Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) said that wearing the ring on the left hand is more common, and there is no harm in wearing it on the right hand. The Sunnah has come with both, meaning that it is permissible to wear the ring on the left hand and it is permissible to wear it on the right hand, so both are Sunnah.
From this, it is understood that there is no special merit for the right hand over the left hand in wearing the watch, and that there is no harm in the watch being on the right hand or on the left hand, for the Sunnah has come with all of them, so there is no merit for one over the other.
In it is also evidence that if a narrator is uncertain about a matter, he should mention it as doubtful, not delete it entirely, nor affirm it with certainty. This is also what the people of knowledge, including the jurists (may Allah have mercy on them), have done; in their books, they sometimes say, "I think it is in such-and-such a book," or "I suppose it is in such-and-such a book," because a person may forget, but his supposition and intuition may correspond to reality. Therefore, deleting something when there is a possibility that it is real is not something that should be done, and affirming it with certainty when there is a possibility that it is not is also not something that should be done. So let him state the situation as it is. Yes. Yes.
