The Shaykh : His statement:
The angels do not enter لا تدخل الملائكة
The angels are honored servants, a hidden knowledge, who carry out the command of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). They are pure, eating nothing and drinking nothing; they only glorify Allah night and day without ceasing. Allah the Exalted has entrusted them with many duties, in addition to their specific acts of worship. Among these duties is that they roam the earth, enter houses, and attend gatherings of dhikr. These are the ones entrusted with such matters who do not enter houses containing a dog or images, meaning an image. The intended meaning is the dog whose keeping is not permissible, because what is permissible to keep cannot be subject to the warning, as the warning necessitates the prohibition of keeping it, and the permissibility of keeping it necessitates the removal of the warning. Accordingly, it is to be understood as referring to the dog whose keeping is not permissible.
Similarly, regarding the image, it is to be understood as referring to the image whose keeping is not permissible. As for what is permissible to keep, such as images that are trampled upon, according to the opinion of the majority of scholars who said it is permissible, and such as images that a person is compelled to have, like the license plate on a car and the images on coins, it appears that the angels do not refrain from entering the house, because these images are matters from which a person cannot free himself. If people were obligated to remove them from their houses, it would cause severe hardship, and it is not possible.
