Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 5881 ):
Q1: Are these hadiths authentic: (a)
The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.لا تدخل الملائكة بيتًا فيه كلب ولا صورة
Sunan Ibn Majah 3649Sahih (Darussalam)
? (b) "Cursed, cursed" it was said: Who, O Messenger of Allah? He said: "The one who strikes the hand drum and the one who listens to the flute"?

A1: (a) The hadith:
The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.لا تدخل الملائكة بيتًا فيه كلب ولا صورة
Sunan Ibn Majah 3649Sahih (Darussalam)
is authentic, narrated by the Imam Ahmad and al-Bukhari and Muslim and al-Tirmidhi and al-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah . (b) Striking the hand drum to announce a marriage is prescribed for women only, and the use of flutes and music and the like of instruments of amusement and listening to them is prohibited; because of the evidence from the Shari'ah regarding the prohibition of that. As for the hadith "Cursed, cursed, cursed..." etc., we do not know of any basis for it. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
