Explanation of the Book of the Hearts-03b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Alī ibn ‘Abd Allāh said: Muḥammad ibn al-Zubayqān said: Mūsā ibn ‘Uqbah narrated from Abū Salmah ibn ‘Abd al-Raḥmān from ‘Ā’ishah from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately, and receive good news because one's good deeds will not make him enter Paradise. سددوا وقاربوا وأبشروا فإنه لا يدخل أحداً الجنة عمله
Sahih al-Bukhari 6467
They said: “Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?” He said:
Even I, unless and until Allah bestows His pardon and Mercy on me. ولا أنا إلا أن يتغمدني الله بمغفرة ورحمة
Sahih al-Bukhari 6467
He said: I think it is from Abū al-Nu‘mān from Abū Salmah from ‘Ā’ishah. And ‘Afān said: Wahb narrated to us from Mūsā ibn ‘Uqbah, saying: I heard Abū Salmah from ‘Ā’ishah from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
Be correct and give good tidings. سددوا وأبشروا
Mujāhid said: “A correct saying, correctness is truth.”

The Shaykh : I mean, and I say a correct saying. The most accurate is to say that the correct saying is what is right. If it is a report, its correctness is truth; and if it is a ruling, its correctness is justice.

The questioner : O Shaykh, none of these hadiths contains “by his deeds”; there is no bā’ in them.

The Shaykh : There are other narrations in them.

The questioner : Some of them verified this, saying: In the two Ṣaḥīḥs, there is never a bā’, in response to Ibn al-Qayyim’s statement that the bā’ in the verse is such-and-such and in the hadith is such-and-such.

The Shaykh : I say there are other narrations in them, possibly in the two Ṣaḥīḥs.

The questioner : Al-Zubayqān or al-Zubay?

The Shaykh : Al-Zubayqān.

The questioner : Al-Zubayqāl.

The Shaykh : Al-Zubay?

The questioner : Rā’ then qāf after it.

The Shaykh : Yes, no, with a nūn.
