Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : She says she is a girl who was raised in a home that has hated girls since time immemorial, even though I am very careful and committed to the Shari'ah dress, the jilbab, but the look at the girl in our family is uncomfortable. Also, my father always mocks women by saying: "Deficient in intellect and religion," which made me hate being created as a girl. What is the Shari'ah's opinion on your view of this, O honorable Shaykh?

The Shaykh : I see that it is obligatory for the servant to be patient with what Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) tests him with, whether from His actions or from the actions of people. So you must be patient and seek reward from Allah for the harm you hear or feel from your family.
And I advise the family members who look down on the girl and do not see any value in her to fear Allah (Mighty and Majestic) regarding their daughters, and to realize that they are daughters of Adam, and that women are the counterparts of men. It is obligatory for them to look at the woman with the regard befitting her, without injustice or excess.
As for insulting the woman, despising her, looking down on her, and mocking her, this is not lawful and is not permissible. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
It is a serious evil for a Muslim that he should look down upon his brother Muslim. All things of a Muslim are inviolable for his brother in faith: his blood, his wealth and his honour. بحسب امرئ من الشر أن يحقر أخاه المسلم، كل المسلم على المسلم حرام دمه وماله وعرضه
Sahih Muslim 2564a
