The son of the daughter of the daughter of the grandmother’s sister is not a mahram

Fatwa number ( 13371 )
Q: I have removed the hijab from all those whom I am not obligated to cover in front of, but I have not put on the hijab in front of the son of the daughter of the daughter of my grandmother’s sister, because I consider him like my brother; for I have no brother from my mother and father, and I have a brother from my father, but he does not care about me or ask about my worldly or hereafter affairs, and he only asks about my health and nothing else. This son of the daughter of the daughter of my grandmother’s sister is a respectable, married man who obeys Allah and advises people toward what is good for their affairs and hereafter. He constantly advises me, sends me religious books and advice, and encourages me to obey Allah the Exalted and His Messenger. I consider him like my elder brother who guides me when I make a mistake, and he is about 46 years old. I am now wearing the hijab in front of his brother, but not in front of him. Is there a sin on me for that or not? Knowing that if I put on the hijab in front of him, I fear he will say that I am denying what is right; for he is the one who guided me to wear the hijab and not go out adorned, and advised me to wear a glove on my hand and a glove on my foot as well. These are some of the advice he used to send me from Jeddah when any person visits our village. I ask your eminence to guide me to what is correct and in which Allah the Exalted is pleased. And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah the Exalted and His blessings.
A: It is obligatory for you to cover yourself in front of the son of the daughter of the daughter of your grandmother’s sister;
because he is the son of the daughter of the daughter of your father’s sister, and he is not one of your mahrams. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
