Benefits of the Hadith: (I am more worthy of the believers than themselves, so whoever dies leaving a debt and does not leave anything to pay it off, we will pay it off, and whoever leaves wealth, it is for his heirs).

The Shaykh : And in this is the excellence of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) guardianship over his Ummah, where he said:

I am nearer to the believers than themselves

أنا أولى بالمؤمنين من أنفسهم

, and this matches the verse exactly, which is His saying, the Exalted:

The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves, and his wives are [in the position of] their mothers

النبي أولى بالمؤمنين من أنفسهم وأزواجه أمهاتهم

[Al-Ahzab 33:6]
