The reciter: "Chapter: The inheritance of a child from his father and mother". And Zayd ibn Thabit said: "If a man or a woman leaves behind a daughter, she gets half; if there are two or more, they get two-thirds; and if there is a male with them, the one who shares with them is given his fixed share, and what remains is for the male in the amount of two female shares".
The Shaykh : He said: "Chapter: The inheritance of a child from his father and mother".
And this is mentioned in the Book of Allah:[An-Nisa 4:11] This is when males and females are present together, [An-Nisa 4:11] meaning there is no male with them, [An-Nisa 4:11] and if they are males, it is by equality; the wealth is divided among them equally.
So the children are either pure males, or pure females, or males and females. If they are pure males, they inherit as residuary heirs equally. If they are pure females, they inherit by fixed shares: one gets half, and more than one gets two-thirds. Two daughters get two-thirds, and a hundred daughters get two-thirds; the fixed share does not increase with their increase. And if they are males and females, the male gets the share of two females.
The Shaykh : He said: "Chapter: The inheritance of a child from his father and mother".
And this is mentioned in the Book of Allah:
Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females
يوصيكم الله في أولادكم للذكر مثل حظ الأنثيينBut if there are [only] daughters, two or more, for them is two thirds of one's estate
فإن كن نساء فوق ثنتين فلهن ثلثا ما تركAnd if there is only one, for her is half
وإن كانت واحدة فلها النصفSo the children are either pure males, or pure females, or males and females.
