The reciter: Hafs ibn 'Umar narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said:
Aishah wanted to buy Barirah, so she said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "They are making the condition of the bond of loyalty (wala)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Buy her, for the bond of loyalty belongs only to the one who grants freedom."
أرادت عائشة، أن تشتري بريرة، فقالت للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : إنهم يشترطون الولاء، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : اشتريها، فإنما الولاء لمن أعتق
