Is it permissible for a woman to veil herself in a color other than black?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible for a woman to veil herself in a color other than black?

The Shaykh : ?

The questioner : Veil herself.

The Shaykh : Veil herself?

The questioner : Yes, or to adopt a hijab other than black?

The Shaykh : It is as if he is asking: Is it permissible for a woman to wear a head covering (khimar) that is not black? The answer is yes, she may wear a head covering that is not black, on the condition that this head covering is not like the turban of a man. If it is like the turban of a man, it is forbidden, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
cursed those men who are in the similitude (assume the manners) of women and those women who are in the similitude (assume the manners) of men لعن المتشبهين من الرجال بالنساء، والمتشبهات من النساء بالرجال
Sahih al-Bukhari 5885
However, if it is a white color but is not worn in the manner of men's clothing, then if people have become accustomed to it in their lands, there is nothing wrong with it. But if it is not customary among them, then it is not permissible, because clothing that seeks fame is prohibited.
And on this occasion, I would like to remind my Muslim sisters of an important matter, which is what some women have become accustomed to, namely accepting and following new fashions, even at the expense of Islamic etiquette. Some women have been led astray, indeed some women have been corrupted by accepting and using fashions, whether in outer clothing, inner clothing, or adornments. This is a great error. What a woman should do is have self-respect and her own customs, and what people have been accustomed to before, so that she does not become a follower who says what people say and does what people do. Because if she accustoms herself to following others, that is a danger for her, in that she will have no personality or value. So women should beware of accepting new fashions, especially those that contradict the religion and necessitate imitating the enemies of Allah. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. The questioner also asks from the Arab Republic of Egypt, and he says.
