Conditions of Discipline

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : That is, there must be conditions: that he has the right to discipline, such as a father or a ruler, or the like.
Second: that the one being disciplined has done what warrants discipline.
Third: that he does not exaggerate in his discipline.
Fourth: that the person is one who can be disciplined by such means, unlike a madman or the like.
If these four conditions are met and the one being disciplined dies, there is no liability on the discipliner. There is no liability on the discipliner because he did what he was commanded to do. Then the author mentioned the story of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) with his daughter Aishah, where he struck her a severe blow on her side. However, out of respect for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), she did not move. And what happened to her was from her blessing. For this reason, Asid ibn Hudayr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Is this the first of your blessings, O family of Abu Bakr?" Because this detention resulted in the revelation of the verse of tayammum, in which Allah granted a dispensation to the servants if they do not find water, that they should perform tayammum. Then the verse was revealed, and they sent for the camel on which she had been riding, and they found the necklace under it. This is among the signs of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) that Allah detained them on this necklace, a necklace she wore around her neck, until the verse of tayammum was revealed.
And in the saying of Asid ibn Hudayr: "Is this the first of your blessings?" there is evidence that it is permissible for a person to say to another, "This is from your blessings," on the condition that it has a real effect. A person may have a blessing in his gathering by teaching a question of knowledge to those present; this is a blessing. He may have a blessing by giving his wealth to those in need, or the like. As for tangible, material blessing, this is not for anyone but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); he is the one from whose tangible traces people seek blessing. And in her saying: "I would have died from it had it not been for...", the meaning is that the matter was severe for me because of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), otherwise the beating had hurt me.
