Is it permissible for a man to touch the waist of his daughters?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible for a man to touch the waist of his daughters?

The Shaykh : A jab is not a handshake. If Allah wills, when the prayer is finished, I will shake your hand on this face.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : Even a hug, what do you mean? A hug is a handshake with your arm and your elbow.

The questioner : Touching mahrams, O Shaykh, in what way? Is it permissible for a man to touch his daughter's waist?

The Shaykh : Yes, there is nothing wrong with it, because the waist is above the awrah (part of the body that must be covered). Also, touching is not the same as jabbing. Jabbing is done in anger for the purpose of discipline. It is not what you are asking about, but if someone comes and rubs the waists, we do not know, by Allah, what is going on. There is a great difference between one who holds the waist, starts rubbing it, and says, "By Allah, what a nice waist," and one who jabs the waist. There is a great difference between the two. Yes.
