The reciter: Ali ibn Abdullah narrated to us, Bishr ibn al-Sari narrated to us, Nafi' ibn Umar narrated to us from Ibn Abi Mulaikah, who said: Asma' narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:

I will be at my Lake-Fount (Kauthar) waiting for whoever will come to me. Then some people will be taken away from me whereupon I will say, 'My followers!' It will be said, 'You do not know they turned Apostates as renegades (deserted their religion).'

أنا على حوضي أنتظر من يرد علي فيؤخذ بناس من دوني فأقول أمتي فيقول لا تدري مشوا على القهقرى

Sahih al-Bukhari 7048

Ibn Abi Mulaikah said: "O Allah, we seek refuge in You from turning back on our heels or being tested."
