Explanation of the Book of Fitnahs and Rulings-04b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abu al-Yaman narrated to us, Shu'ayb informed us, al-Zuhri informed me, 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Abd Allah ibn 'Utbah ibn Mas'ud informed me that Abu Sa'id said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated to us one day a long hadith about the Dajjal. Among what he narrated to us was that he said: "The Dajjal will come, and it is forbidden for him to enter the elevated area of the city of Madinah. He will descend in one of the marshy areas adjacent to Madinah. On that day, a man will come out to him, who is the best of people or among the best of people. He will say: 'I bear witness that you are the Dajjal about whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us.' The Dajjal will say: 'Do you see? If I kill this man and then bring him back to life, will you still have any doubt about the matter?' They will say: 'No.' He will kill him and then bring him back to life. The man will say: 'By Allah, I was never more certain of you than I am today.' The Dajjal will try to kill him, but he will not be allowed to do so."
.

The Shaykh : His statement (peace and blessings be upon him):
He is the best of people هو خير الناس
It is possible that the intended meaning of "people" is the people of his time, and it is possible that it means all people in general. As for the first option, we prefer it so that this man is not considered better than the Companions and the Rightly Guided Caliphs. It is not precluded that the intended meaning of "people" is the people of that person's time, just as it is said of the Children of Israel that they were preferred over all the worlds, meaning the people of their time, not all the worlds. This is the apparent meaning. And his statement:
or among the best أو من خيار
This is a doubt from the narrator. In this is evidence that this lying Dajjal's claim is not true, because in the first instance he was allowed to kill him and then bring him back to life, and in the second instance he is unable to do so; he cannot kill him.
