Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh. There is a man, O Shaykh, who passed away, and after his death he had two wives. One of his wives gave birth to a son, and the second wife is barren and has not given birth since she married him.
Does the son exempt his second mother, meaning the second wife, from the waiting period?

The Shaykh : Yes, if a man has two wives, one of whom is pregnant, and he dies, and the pregnant one gives birth after, for example, a week has passed,

The questioner : by a day,

The Shaykh : or by a day, her waiting period has ended and her preparation period has ended.
And the second one remains until she completes four months and ten days, and if she is pregnant, then until she gives birth, perhaps she will not give birth until after ten months. The important thing is that each one has her own ruling.

The questioner : It does not exempt the second wife.

The Shaykh : It does not prevent the second wife. Yes, that is correct.
