What is the reason for the poor entering Paradise before the rich by five hundred years?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Your Eminence, in a hadith from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The poor will enter Paradise

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : The poor will enter Paradise before the rich by five hundred years, as narrated by al-Tirmidhi. Your Eminence, the question is directed at this hadith. Does it mean that the reasons for the rich entering are after five hundred years from the poor, while now, praise be to Allah, we find a clear awakening among the rich, who have devoted their wealth for the sake of the religion?
So the question is directed to you, Your Eminence: What is your opinion? Does it mean the rich will take the same five hundred years as the poor?

The Shaykh : Yes, the apparent meaning of the hadith is that the poor will enter Paradise before the rich by five hundred years, or by another period that varies from five hundred years.
But this is if the believing rich person and the poor person are equal. Then Allah compensates this poor person, who did not enjoy in this world what the rich person enjoyed, by advancing his entry into Paradise. But if the rich person has good deeds that exceed those of the poor person,
then the apparent view, and Allah knows best, is that the rich person will precede the poor person according to his precedence in good deeds. And this hadith is restricted to the case where the rich and the poor are equal. Or it can be said that these [the poor] precede the rich in entry, but when the rich enter Paradise, they will be in the ranks they deserve, above the poor, if they deserve a rank above the poor. And Paradise has levels, and for each level according to what they did. Yes.

The questioner : Your Eminence, the Shaykh

The Shaykh : No, no, the question is finished.
