A woman should not travel for a day and a night except with a mahram (a relative one may not marry) "The implication of the hadith is that traveling for less than a day and a night is permissible. Is this correct?"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A woman should not travel for a day and a night without a mahram (a relative one may not marry) لا تسافر المرأة بدون محرم يوما وليلة
or as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : So, does the implication of the hadith mean that if it is less than that, it is permissible for her to travel for less than a day and a night without a mahram (a relative one may not marry)?

The Shaykh : The specification of a day and a night, or more, is a matter of disagreement. For this reason, the scholars adopted the general meaning. They said: Because when it was reported as a day and a night, and three days, it became known that the restriction is not obligatory. Yes, and Allah knows best, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
