Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : His second question asks: What is the ruling on reciting the Qur'an in a group with a single voice, and how true is the practice of the reciter in this case, with clarification and confirmation? And finally, please accept my greetings?

The Shaykh : Reciting the Qur'an in a group with a single voice is permissible, provided it does not involve a prohibited matter. One of the prohibited matters is that it causes disturbance to those around them, in which case it is prevented. This is because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to his Companions while they were praying and reciting loudly, and he said (peace and blessings be upon him):
Each of you is conversing with his Lord, so do not raise your voices over one another in the Qur'an. كلكم يناجي ربه فلا يجهر بعضكم على بعض في القرأن
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 14:26
.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Another of the prohibited matters is that this is done for the sake of pleasure, shaking heads, and the like, as some people of the Sufi orders do. This is also prevented. Another is that it leads to neglecting one's own recitation, such that they become accustomed to this method until a person among them is unable to recite the Qur'an for himself. This is a prohibited matter that must be avoided.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : If it is free from these prohibited matters, there is no harm in it. And if a man, when he recites alone, is closer to being present in his mind and to reflecting, then that is preferable to reciting together.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.
