What is the ruling on praying the witr prayer in congregation outside of Ramadan, without prior arrangement or regularity?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Okay, let's go.

The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The honorable Shaykh: Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and Allah's mercy and blessings.

The questioner : We ask Allah, the Great, Lord of the Mighty Throne, who has gathered this assembly in this place, to gather us with you in the highest level of Paradise.

The Shaykh : Amen, amen.

The questioner : The question is: Is it permissible to pray the witr prayer in congregation outside the month of Ramadan?

The Shaykh : Pray what?

The questioner : To pray the witr prayer in congregation outside the month of Ramadan, as if a group of people are traveling and the time for witr comes, so they pray witr in congregation, even if only once, without a formula of continuity or an annual arrangement or anything of that sort?

The Shaykh : Yes, there is nothing wrong with a person praying a voluntary prayer in congregation on some occasions, because this is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Indeed, Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) prayed with him, and Abdullah ibn Mas'ud prayed with him, and Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman prayed with him. All of this is reported in the Sunnah. So if they do this and do not make it a regular, fixed practice, there is nothing wrong. Yes.
