The Shaykh : What contradicts? May Allah reward you with good. I say there is nothing wrong with it. As for him, his will has ended and is done. If you want to do good for him, do good for him. If you want to make supplication for him, then supplication is better, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When a man dies all his good deeds come to an end except three: Ongoing charity إذا مات الإنسان انقطع عمله إلا من ثلاثة: صدقة جارية

or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious child, who prays for him أو علم ينتفع به، أو ولد صالح يدعو له
