The questioner : A woman from outside this country; her husband passed away while they were in Saudi Arabia. She is currently in the waiting period for her husband and wants to perform Hajj this year. Should she perform Hajj while in the waiting period, considering that after the waiting period ends, she will return to her country, making it difficult for her to return to Saudi Arabia again? What should she do? We ask for your guidance. May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : If this woman’s waiting period does not end before Hajj, then Hajj is not obligatory for her, based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way ولله على الناس حج البيت من استطاع إليه سبيلاً
[Ali 'Imran 3:97]
A woman in the waiting period is required to remain in the residence where her husband died and where she was living. However, if this woman is unable to remain in her home, she may travel to her country, because she is either in the country where her husband died or in her original country, if it is difficult for her to remain. As for Hajj, it is not obligatory for her in this situation because she cannot perform Hajj except with a mahram, and she has no mahram. Yes.
