Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And his saying
And he used the miswak, performed ablution, and completed the ablution thoroughly, and he did not waste any water except a little فتسوّك وتوضأ وأسبغ الوضوء ولم يهرق من الماء إلا قليلا
, contains evidence that it is recommended to use the miswak after waking from sleep. Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said
Whenever the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) got up (from sleep), he would rub his teeth with Miswak (tooth-stick). كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلّم إذا قام من النوم يشوص فاه بالسواك
Riyad as-Salihin 1197
, meaning he washes it and rubs it. This is because he will recite the Book of Allah the Exalted and will stand before Allah, so it is fitting that he stand before Allah and converse with Him in His words in the best condition. Also, from a health perspective, it is beneficial for health. But we see that the health benefits are a secondary matter that is not dwelt upon except for a person we want to encourage in Islam and show him how Islam took care of health and interests. Yes.
