That Asid ibn Hudhayr was reciting in his stable one night when his horse started to move. He recited, then it moved again, and he recited, then it moved again. He said: So I went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the morning and said: O Messenger of Allah, I was reciting in my stable last night in the middle of the night when my horse started to move. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Recite, O son of Hudhayr. He said: So I recited, then it moved again, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Recite, O son of Hudhayr. He said: So I recited, then it moved again, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Recite, O son of Hudhayr. He said: So I turned away, and Yahya was near it, and I feared it would trample him. I saw something like a canopy in it were things like saddles, ascending into the sky until I could not see it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Those were the angels listening to you. If you had continued reciting, the people would have seen them in the morning, for they would not have hidden themselves from them.
أن أسيد بن حضير بينما هو ليلة يقرأ في مربده إذ جالت فرسه فقرأ ثم جالت أخرى فقرأ ثم جالت أيضا قال أسيد: فخشيت أن تطأ يحيى فقمت إليها فإذا مثل الظلّة فوق رأسي فيها أمثال السُرُج عرجت في الجو حتى ما أراها قال: فغدوت على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم فقلت: يا رسول الله بينما أنا البارحة من جوف الليل أقرأ في مربدي إذ جالت فرسي فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم: اقرأ بن حضير قال: فقرأت ثم جالت أيضا فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم: اقرأ بن حضير قال: فقرأت ثم جالت أيضا فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم: اقرأ بن حضير قال: فانصرفت وكان يحيى قريبا منها خشيت أن تطأه فرأيت مثل الظلة فيها أمثال السرج عرجت في الجو حتى ما أراها فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم: تلك الملائكة كانت تستمع لك ولو قرأت لأصبحت يراها الناس ما تستتر منهمThe Shaykh : Allah is the Greatest.
