Is what happened to this Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) specific to him, or can it happen to any believer? And what is your opinion regarding the claim of the Sufis that they see the angels?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : ... , the Shaykh of the Sufis, when they claim that the angels descend to them and they see them, the Shaykh, I mean, do we say that this is specific to that Companion due to his virtue, or ... can this also happen to them?

The Shaykh : A karamah (a miracle granted to a righteous person) does not occur except for the awliya (close friends of Allah), and the awliya are those who believed and were mindful of Allah. And part of faith in Allah and mindfulness of Him is that a person does not introduce into the religion of Allah what is not part of it. The Sufis have many innovations, and every bid'ah (religious innovation) is misguidance, and misguidance can never be from the mindfulness of Allah. However, perhaps Shayatins (Satan) appear to them in the form of angels to deceive them.
The reciter: Chapter on the virtue of the one who memorizes the Qur'an.
Qutaybah ibn Sa'id and Abu Kamil al-Juhdri narrated to us, both from Abu Awana. Qutaybah said: Abu Awana narrated to us from Qatadah from Anas from Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A believer who recites the Qur'an is like مثل المؤمن الذي يقرأ القرءان مثل
Sahih Muslim 797a
..

The Shaykh : There is an important issue in the hadith of Asid, where it says
The angels were listening to you, and if you had recited كانت الملائكة تسمع لك، ولو قرأت
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 60:138
meaning I continued in the recitation
the people would have seen them in the morning and they would not have concealed themselves from them لأصبحت يراها الناس ما تستتر منهم
Sahih Muslim 796
, so did the Companion understand that this is a report about the past and the future, meaning he said, "Then I will recite the next night until dawn," or do we say that the Companion understood that this was a specific matter for that night and it may not recur?
The student: The second.

The Shaykh : The second answer, because if it were so, he would have said, "I will recite on the second night." And I think that if this had happened to the people of our time, they would have said, "Yes, we will recite on the second night so that it becomes dawn and the people see it and it is not hidden from them." But the Companions had a faith in the unseen, a restriction to what has been transmitted, and a proper conduct before Allah and His Messenger that the people of our time do not have. Yes.
