The Shaykh : This is also among the virtues of the end of Surat al-Baqarah, as mentioned in these hadiths. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
Ibn ‘Abbas said that while Gabriel was sitting with the Prophet he heard a creaking sound above him, and after raising his head
Mishkat al-Masabih 2124
In this phrase, it is affirmed that angels sit, which is evidence that angels are bodies, not as some contemporary scholars have claimed that they are intellects or forces of good, and that devils are forces of evil. Rather, they are bodies. And Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said:
[who] made the angels messengers having wings
[Fatir 35:1]
He said, "He heard a sound from above him and raised his head." Who raised his head?
The student: Jibril.

The Shaykh : Jibril.
This is a gate opened in heaven to-day which has never been opened before.” Then when an angel descended through it he said, “This is an angel come down to earth who has never come down before.” He gave a salutation
Mishkat al-Masabih 2124
This means he greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Jibril.
and said: "Rejoice with two lights given to you وقال أبشر بنورين أوتيتهما
Riyad as-Salihin 1022
The good news is informing about what brings joy. A person should, when something joyful occurs, whether general or specific, inform his brothers and give them good news of it, as Allah the Exalted said:
So We gave him good news of a knowledgeable boy
So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy.
[As-Saffat 37:101]
and the like. Similarly, Ka'b ibn Malik said, "Give me good news of the best day that has passed for you since your mother bore you." Informing about what brings joy is of the same kind as the good omen that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to like. A person should, when something joyful occurs, give his brothers good news, whether it is general or specific. "No prophet was given these two before you," and this is among the specific characteristics of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and his characteristics are many. As for what came in the hadith of Jabir,
I have been given five things which were not given to any amongst the Prophets before me
Sahih al-Bukhari 438
this is not by way of restriction, but by way of example. The Messenger has many characteristics, and they can be counted by tracing them. He said, "The first is the opening of the Book and the end of Surat al-Baqarah. You will not recite a letter from either of them but you will be given it." The angel says this, and the angel certainly does not say this on his own, but by the command of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). In Surat al-Fatihah, there is a supplication from the phrase:
It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
[Al-Fatihah 1:5]
"You alone we worship and You alone we ask for help," which is a supplication to the end of the surah. So if a person recites al-Fatihah with sincerity and faith, he will be given what he asked for in terms of help and guidance. Similarly, at the end of Surat al-Baqarah, there is also something like:
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned.
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
"Our Lord, do not hold us accountable if we forget or make a mistake." Allah the Exalted said, "I have done so,"
Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people." ربنا ولا تحمل علينا إصرا كما حملته على الذين من قبلنا ، ربنا ولا تحملنا ما لا طاقة لنا به واعف عنا واغفر لنا وارحمنا أنت مولانا فانصرنا على القوم الكافرين
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
. And this is among the virtues of Surat al-Fatihah and the end of Surat al-Baqarah.
