The reciter: And 'Uqbah ibn Makram al-'Umy and Muhammad ibn Rafi' - and the wording is that of Ibn Rafi' - said: Wahb ibn Jarir ibn Hazim narrated to us, and my father narrated to us, saying: I heard Qays narrating from Ata' from Safwan ibn Ya'la ibn Umayyah from his father (may Allah be pleased with him):
That a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was at al-Ja'ranah, having declared his intention for 'Umrah, with his beard and head dyed yellow, and wearing a shirt. He said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have declared my intention for 'Umrah, and I am as you see." He said: "Remove the shirt from yourself, wash the dye from yourself, and do in your 'Umrah what you were doing in your Hajj."
