The reciter: And Ibn Numayr narrated to us, my father narrated to us, he said: Saif narrated to us, he said: I heard Mujahid say: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla narrated to me, Ka'b ibn Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to me: أنّ رسول الله صلّى الله عليه وسلّم وقف عليه ورأسه يتهافت قملًا ، فقال : أيؤذيك هوامّك ؟ قلت : نعم ، قال : فاحلق رأسك ، قال : ففيّ نزلت هذه الآية : فمن كان منكم مريضًا أو به أذًى من رأسه ففدية من صيامٍ أو صدقةٍ أو نسكٍ فقال لي رسول الله صلّى الله عليه وسلّم : صم ثلاثة أيّامٍ ، أو تصدّق بفرقٍ بين ستّة مساكين ، أو انسك ما تيسّر That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood over him while lice were falling from his head, and he said: "Do your lice bother you?" I said: Yes. He said: "Then shave your head." He said: "It was for my sake that this verse was revealed: 'And whoever among you is ill or has an ailment in his head, then an expiation of fasting or charity or sacrifice.'" Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Fast for three days, or give charity of a sa' distributed among six poor people, or offer a sacrifice of whatever is easy for you.".
