The reciter: And Muhammad ibn Abi Umar narrated to us, saying: Sufyan narrated to us from Ibn Abi Najih, Ayyub, Hamid, and Abd al-Karim, from Mujahid, from Ibn Abi Layla, from Ka'b ibn Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him):
Ka‘b b. ‘Ujra told that the Prophet came upon him at al-Hudaibiya while he was still in the sacred state before entering Mecca. He was kindling a fire under a pot and lice were falling in large numbers over his face. He asked him whether the insects were annoying him, and when he replied that they were, he said, “Shave your head, and give a faraq (i.e. three sa‘s ) to six poor people, or fast three days, or sacrifice an animal.” Bukhari and Muslim.
أنّ النّبيّ صلّى الله عليه وسلّم مرّ به وهو بالحديبية ، قبل أن يدخل مكّة، وهو محرم ، وهو يوقد تحت قدرٍ ، والقمل يتهافت على وجهه ، فقال : أيؤذيك هوامّك هذه؟ قال : نعم ، قال : فاحلق رأسك ، وأطعم فرقًا بين ستّة مساكين ، - والفرق ثلاثة آصعٍ - أو صم ثلاثة أيّامٍ ، أو انسك نسيكةً Ibn Abi Najih said:
Or slaughter a sheep.
أو اذبح شاةً
